I only deal with my own. I've made a concerted effort over the last year to learn how to get my books into the hands of more readers. I've learned a lot and still have more to go. This, I can do. But I love writing and have written for far too long without making a living, even when I was writing for two publishing houses. No one ever said it would be easy. I am still a fairly new writer in the realm of things. I have the fortune to have been able to retire a bit younger than most and so now I am spending more time writing. The selling part is what's difficult. As you said, so many more books are out there now to compete with that finding people to buy and read is hard.
