My Favorite Time of Year by Karen Whiddon

It's December.  Finally!  As is our family tradition, we spent the three days after Thanksgiving decorating for Christmas.  Though it's a lot of work, I wouldn't have it any other way.  This holiday brings me joy!

So for this month's blog post, I'm sharing a few photographs of my decorations.

My tree

And the really cool Christmas dragon I got last year

Our front door

When I was a small child, I used to lie on my back underneath the tree and gaze up in wonder at the lights and ornaments.  I've never lost that sense of wonder.  And now especially, I think we can all use a little beauty and joy.

  1. That is a ton of work! But your house is a wonderland. We have little helpers now and one works on the outdoor display while the other helps me trim the tree. Great fun!

  3. Beautiful! When the kids were younger and all home, I used to go gangbusters and decorate every room in the house! Not so much anymore. But I realized because it was a group effort and it's not as fun doing it by myself!

  4. Pretty home. The front door looks like from a magazine! I like that new dragon and the tree might just invite you to lie under it. Happiest of holidays, Karen.

  6. You have inspired me to get all those boxes out of the garage. Bought a tree today, does that count? Love your front door, so warm and inviting.

  7. That's so beautiful! We don't have our decorations up yet. We're waiting for my daughter to get home from college so we can decorate together.
