THE AUTHORS

Welcome! We're glad you stopped by to meet the Authors of Romance Gems.

We are authors who love to read romance and love writing it too. Our books are Romance Gems too.  Some are sweet. Some are spicy. Some are steamy and sizzling. Some are straight romance while others are romantic comedy or romantic suspense.

Whatever your reading passion, we've got you covered. We'll touch your heart and sometimes make it pound with excitement—maybe fear too. All in all, we are the Gem of an Author you've been waiting to discover.

Bonnie Edwards wrote as Bonnie Adams for Precious Gems Romance shortly before the line stopped publishing.

Since then, she’s helped launch the Aphrodisia imprint for Kensington Books and published with Harlequin and Carina Press.

She believes life should be lived with joy. That joy shows up in her earthy, irreverent love stories.

Publishing has changed and taking charge of her publishing life has been both rewarding and challenging, but change is life and life is change so she’s embraced self-publishing with her heart and soul.

Sometimes her stories have a paranormal twist, likes curses and ghosts, other times not. But they’re always entertaining and guarantee a happy ending.

Caroline Clemmons, through a crazy twist of fate, was not born on a Texas ranch. To compensate for this illogical error, she writes about handsome cowboys, feisty ranch women, and scheming villains in a tiny office her family calls her pink cave. She and her Hero live in North Central Texas cowboy country where they ride herd on their three rescued indoor cats as well as providing nourishment outdoors for squirrels, birds, and other critters.

The books she creates in her pink cave have made her an Amazon bestselling author and won several awards. She writes sweet to sensual romances about the West, both historical and contemporary as well as time travel and mystery. She has many series as well as numerous single titles and contributions to multi-author sets. When she’s not writing, she loves spending time with her family, reading her friends’ books, lunching with friends, browsing antique malls, checking Facebook, and taking the occasional nap.

Cheryl Bolen, named Notable New Author for 1997, is a New York Times bestselling author. She has published more than 20 books with Kensington/Zebra, Harlequin, Love Inspired Historical, Montlake, and independently. She has broken into the top 5 on the New York Times and hit the USA Today bestseller list.

Her books have been finalists for other awards, including the Daphne du Maurier, and have been translated into a dozen languages.

Cheryl holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and English from the University of Texas and a master's degree from the University of Houston. Her favorite pursuits are reading diaries of dead English women, traveling to England, and watching the Texas Longhorns play football and basketball. She and her professor husband are the parents of two sons. One is an attorney, the other a journalist.

Connie Vines wrote under the name Addison Murray for Precious Gems Romance. Now she writes as Connie Vines.

Connie has been a member of Romance Writers of America and the Orange County RWA for decades and is the President of the GothRom Chapter of RWA.

Published in romance, historical, young adult, non-fiction, and fantasy, her novels have won the H.O.L.T. Medallion, Orange Rose, and the Award of Excellence.

Her Rodeo Romance Series, novella series and anthologies are available through her publisher, BLW, in print and e-book. Connie lives in southern California with her husband and an adorable little dog name Chantel.

Constance Bretes is married to her HEA, Jim. Four years ago, they moved from Michigan to Montana after she retired from 38 years of civil service work.

Montana was supposed to be their retirement home, but it didn't work out. She loved Montana, but the air was too thin, and she just couldn't breathe there! So they recently moved to Alabama.

Connie has a stepson, still in Michigan, and 3 cats who live with her and her HEA. When she's not writing, she loves to basket weave, make jewelry, fiddle on my piano, and read.

Right now, her craze is reading billionaire contemporary and erotic romances. Who knows? Next week it may be military romances.

Elsa Kurt is a multi-genre, indie and traditionally published author of eight contemporary women's fiction novels, and several romance novellas.

Hannah Rowan is a life-long Jersey girl who covered news for her local paper for many years. She wrote a gossip column, profiled prominent citizens, and wrote a humor column weekly.

Hannah has also had articles published in national magazines. But maybe the most fun of all, she thinks, was having her first novel published by Kensington Precious Gems, and a paranormal novel published by one of the first e-publishers.

Hannah lives in New Jersey with her husband and 105 pound Golden Doodle. She is currently at work on several new stories and getting her website ready.

Jan Scarbrough is the author of the popular Bluegrass Reunion series.

She loves writing heartwarming contemporary romances about family and second chances, and if the plot allows—horses.

Living in the horse country of Kentucky makes it easy for Jan to add small town Southern charm to her books, and the excitement of a horse race or a competitive horse show.

A member of Novelist, Inc., Jan's published with Kensington, Five Star, ImaJinn Books, Resplendence Publishing and Turquoise Morning Press.

Joan Reeves ~ Keeping Romance Alive...One Sexy Book at a Time ~ is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Contemporary Romance.

Joan's books are available in France through Milady Romance, an imprint of Bragelonne. Her romance novels—available as ebooks, print books, and audio books—all have the same premise: “It’s never too late to live happily ever after.”

Joan lives her happily ever after with her husband in the Lone Star State. They divide their time between a book-cluttered home in Houston and a small house at the foot of the Texas Hill Country. At night, they sit on the porch of their home in the country, look up at the star-studded sky, and listen to the coyotes howl.

Judith Hudson grew up in Toronto, Canada, and St. Louis, Missouri, then moved to the Pacific Northwest where she now lives on beautiful Vancouver Island.

Her romantic women's fiction series, Fortune Bay Books, is set in the Pacific Northwest. In each book, someone at a crossroads of their life moves into a ramshackle cabin on Majestic Lake where they work through their problems with the help of friends and family, and the occasional nudge from the friendly spirit of Aunt Augusta. If a romance grows in the process, and it always does, well, so much the better.

As an landscape artist and photographer, the setting of the story is very important to Judy, and her characters are often artists.

Kara O'Neal was born and raised in Texas, so the state had to be the setting for her first series. "From the food to the fun, like floating the rivers, it is the fire in my blood that inspires me."

Her family and friends take center stage in her books. Her sisters and best friends are her heroines, and her husband created her favorite hero. Love and family are the point of her stories, and she seeks to entertain, relieve stress, and inspire people.

Books can take one on a journey that one can relive over and over. She is extremely grateful to those authors who did that very thing for her.

"I learned and I fell in love with their words and characters. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."

Karen Kelley is a USA Today bestselling author.

She's written books for Kensington, Berkley and Sourcebooks. When she decided to step out of her comfort zone and strike out on her own by going independent, she found the adventure very satisfying.

Not only has she gone independent with her writing but, along with her husband, they've given away or sold most of their belongings, put their house on the market, moved into an RV and added solar panels.

Karen and her hubby plan to travel the country until they get tired of the gypsy lifestyle. Never fear. While they're doing that, Karen will be looking for new adventures in life as well as in her writing.

Karen Whiddon, an award winning author, spun fanciful tales for her younger brothers as early as the age of eleven.

Growing up in the Catskill Mountains of New York, then the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, she found enough magic in the rugged peaks to keep her imagination fueled for years.

Now making her home in North Texas, she shares her life with her hero-like husband and four doting dogs.

In her spare time she volunteers for Legacy Boxer Rescue, Inc.

Karen has published around 45 books. Currently she writes for Harlequin Romantic Suspense and Harlequin Nocturne.

Kari Lemor grew up as one of those kids who read all night under the covers. Once she had her first glimpse of a romance novel at age 12, it was all over. Romance was in her blood, but it would be many years before the stories that ran rampant in her head finally drove her to put words to paper. She wrote self-indulgently for the first few years and only recently began penning stories to share with others.

Now that her children are all grown and have moved out, she uses her spare time to create stories of love and happily ever after romances where heroes ride to the rescue of damsels who have already saved themselves. Kari lives with her husband in a small town in New England dreaming of warmer weather. But only if it's near the ocean.

Kathleen Lawless blames a misspent youth watching Rawhide, Maverick and Bonanza for her fascination with cowboys. Historical or contemporary, cowboys continue to resonate with her today and inspired her upcoming historical series, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Kathleen writes alpha male/forever heroes which is why all of her stories end Happily Ever After.

Not that she can ever stick to just one genre. So many stories to tell—never enough time.

With close to 30 published novels to her credit, she enjoys pushing the boundaries of traditional romance into historical romance, erotic romance, romantic suspense, women’s fiction and stories for young adults.

Kathryn Hills is a Romance author, ghost hunter, and lover of things that go bump in the night. The rich history and many mysteries of New England are the perfect backdrop for Kathryn's books.

Winding roads lined by old stone walls, forgotten cemeteries, grand homes with shadowy pasts...all sparks for her imagination. Whether it's a quaint seaside town or the vibrant city of Boston, it's easy for this "hauntingly romantic" author to envision the past mingling with the present.

Romance, time travel, ghosts, and magic... You're off on a great adventure!

Liz Flaherty is a USA Today bestselling author.

She's a popular Harlequin author noted for her wonderful characters and her heartwarming and wholesome romance novels, and she's rapidly becoming a hybrid author with her indie published romances.

Her books are available in paperback, large print, audio, ebooks, and in box set collections.

Lucinda Race is a life long fan of romantic fiction. As a young girl, she spent hours reading novels and dreaming of, one day, becoming a writer. As life twists and turns, she found herself writing nonfiction but longed to turn to her true passion, romantic fiction. After developing the story line for The Loudon Series, it was time to start living her dream. Fingers flying over computer keys, two novellas and four novels have been published in the series.

Lucinda lives, with her husband Rick, and their two little dogs, Jasper and Griffin, in the rolling hills of western Massachusetts. When she's not writing romance novels Lucinda reads everything she can get her hands on. She's passionate about growing tomatoes and roses.

Nancy Fraser is an award-winning author of over twenty-five romance novels and novellas. Her books have been published in a half-dozen foreign languages as well as in audio format.

Nancy currently writes for Decadent Publishing, Entangled Publishing, Soul Mate Publishing, and The Wild Rose Press. Nancy spreads her creativity across multiple genres that range from vintage (think 1950s-60s) sweet romance to both historical and contemporary erotic romance and everything in between.

When not writing, Nancy loves to travel—with a special fondness for Las Vegas—and spend as much time as possible with her five grandchildren.

Nora LeDuc grew up in rural New England and still lives there. She enjoys combining her love of true crime shows with her imagination to produce romantic suspense and mysteries that you keep you guessing.

She did not become a writer until she was an adult and working 2 part-time jobs, taking a class at Boston University, and keeping up with her family. She needed an escape and went to Annie’s Book Stop.

She discovered the Romance section and fell in love. One day while browsing she found a Romantic Times magazine which contained an article titled “You Can Be a Romance Author.” Right then, she knew that was what she wanted. When she told her family about her new vocation, they asked how soon she'd make lots of money. They’re still waiting.

Peggy Jaeger, a lifelong avid romance reader and writer, is a member of RWA and her local New Hampshire RWA Chapter. She's a contemporary romance author who writes about strong women, the families who support them, and the men who can't live without them.

Family and food play huge roles in her stories because she believes there is nothing that holds a family structure together like sharing a meal...or two...or ten.

Dotted with humor and characters that are as real as they are loving, she brings all topics of daily life into her stories.

Growing up as the only child of divorced parents, she longed for sisters, brothers and a family that vowed to stick together no matter what came their way. Through her books, she created the families she wanted as that lonely child.

Peggy has a master's degree in Nursing Administration and first found publication with several articles she wrote on Alzheimer's Disease while running an Alzheimer's in-patient care unit during the 1990s.

Satin Russell was an avid reader when she was growing up. She wanted to be either an English teacher, librarian, or author. However, life took her in a different direction and she became a financial advisor.

Satin lives in Massachusetts and is married to the love of her life, a man who literally flew halfway around the world for her.
