I love summer reading. It's relaxing and enjoyable and I often find it spurs my creativity. Since I'm usually under a constant deadline, that's also a good thing.
The pool or the lake, a glass of wine or iced tea (I've recently discovered Hibiscus tea and am loving it!) and a good book can't be beat. While my hubby watches Netflix, I read. The perfect end to a hot summer day.
What about you? Are you reading more or less? I'd love to hear some recommendations!
Speaking of recommendations, have you pre-ordered this boxed set? I have - it comes out tomorrow - and I can't wait to read it. I'm not in it this time - too many other commitments, but I hope to be in the future. It's on 99 cents so get yours today!
Get a head start on the first Gems box set coming out August 4th.
And finally, we've changed up our contest a bit. See below!
I've been reading less and spending more time outdoors. I have a lot of catching up to do. Katrinadehart at ymail dot com
ReplyDeleteMy concentration is...not good this summer. Audio-books have been my saving grace, and I'm listening to old, old stories--Louisa May Alcott and Jane Austen--and they're making me happy.
ReplyDeleteI’m reading books that will take me away from the headlines. This summer is very different...fewer get together and lunches out with friends so I am writing more, too. I’m very excited to read Last Chance Beach-Summer’s End and look forward to comment to win this month!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to read more but getting lost in writing and editing as well!
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to get outside more and read. The weather has been hot but if there's a breeze I've found early mornings work best. Nothing better than birds chirping in the background and a good book.
ReplyDeleteI just finished Targeted by Marissa Garner. It was very good! It's a story about a woman on a special ops mission. It was pretty intense.
ReplyDeleteHaven't gotten around to reading a lot lately.. just a lot of chaotic things in life, hope I'll find time soon.

I always enjoy summer reading too.

I prefer a paperbook for summer reading, tough this year with bookstores closed for a while.
ReplyDeleteI've been taking care of business for the box set mostly and starting a new book. I'm going to sneak in another short story tonight thought from LAST CHANCE BEACH: Summer's End.
