Long
weekends are something most of us look forward to, whether we’re working, in
school or retired. In Canada, we had our
holiday Monday earlier this week, while Memorial Day in the US and a bank
holiday in the UK are on the horizon.
This
year, my brothers and sister and I celebrated by springing Dad from the retirement
residence where he’s been in lockdown for over two months. For the first time this year, all four of us were
together for a visit with him, social distanced of course, outside in our
lovely gazebo. The little things we used
to take for granted are slowly coming back.
To
help kick off the holiday celebration this weekend, my boxed set of 4
award-winning historical romances, WIDOWS, BABIES, AND BRIDES, is on
sale for only .99 cents, a saving of $9.
Grab yours here for a leisurely binge read.

I'm happy for your family time!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz. We were getting really worried about Dad's frame of mind, given now bored and lonely he was.
DeleteGlad you got to spend time with your dad! I'll be driving back to NH this weekend!!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels. Is this your summer place?
DeleteAawww... That's great, Kathleen! Have a wonderful time with your family! We'll be home, here in New England, enjoying some spring sunshine and quiet. Of course, our grill will be busy. 😋
ReplyDeleteAlways love the grill! Have a great weekend, Kathy.
DeleteLooking forward to the Memorial Day holiday here in the USA Monday May 25th. So nice you got to spend your holiday with dad. Here's to many sales. I bought your specially priced books. What a cool gift.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you aboard, Marcia. Post some of your fun weekend pictures on FB.
DeleteWe had a long weekend last week. We are now allowed to widen our contacts here because the virus news is so good in our corner of the world. Good thing because we had our first sleepover night with our grandsons in months. Both parents are on the front line and are returning to regular shift work hours. We’re support staff for them (AKA the daycare). Nice way to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Bonnie. I know you've missed your munchkins, as they've missed you.
DeleteEnjoying sun and warmth! Begone cold and rain!! Yay. It finally feels like summer might be coming. How wonderful you got to spend time with your dad. I'm sure that was a treasured moment. We'll be grilling and planing flowers--traditional holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteHere's to sunnier days ahead. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo nice you were able to spend time with your family. Best wishes on the box set.
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline. Dad is 91, so we have to make every day with him count.
DeleteOMG! After days and days of fiddling with settings, I finally managed to get Google to recognize me, as ME! Whoopee! Wishing you a happy long weekend, Kathleen!
ReplyDeleteYay! You too, Joan.
DeleteI'm so looking forward to this weekend! I need that holiday. I hope you have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Kari. Here's to a fabulous time had by all!
DeleteGrabbing the box set now! Looks awesome, Kathleen. It's been a while since I've read one of yours and I'm looking forward to it. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you, your dad and your siblings had a great time in spite of the lockdown. My kids and I had the same opportunity the first weekend in May. I live in a Seniors only apartment bldg and we have been locked down since March 12. The last time I spent time with my kids was March 5 so it was a treat when my daughter arranged to bring the wine and hand sanitizer and we sat outside on the front porch of my bldg. Keeping the distance as required but we didn't wear masks but we also didn't touch, hug or kiss so we were OK. It was a real treat for all of us and really gave me a morale boost I needed. Can't wait to do it again. My state (MI) is doing a very slow and careful opening up of businesses in spite of the gun-toting protesters we've had at the capital bldg.
ReplyDeleteLove to you all with cyber hugs coming your way!
