Romance in Bloom by @JoanReeves #RomanceGems

I can still remember the old adage I was told as a child.

April showers bring May flowers.

Actually, that's really true for much of the world.

All that spring rain in April results in lush blooms popping up everywhere.

That thought was the perfect inspiration for our May theme: Romance in Bloom.

May has arrived, and the world is awash in color. Everything feels fresh and new—despite Covid-19.

Everyone seems to have more energy, even if it's because we've been cooper up inside for so long.

I know my imagination has been working overtime. So many of us are working away on stories that are due in the next few months. I have a deadline every month from June to November so my free time is officially at an end.

Yet, the garden calls to me. I have plants to re-pot, seeds to sow, and a rose garden that needs attention. *sigh* I'm resigned to less gardening and more writing because I have 5 books to write

Romance in Bloom

Even the Romance Gems blog has a new bloom, uh, I mean page. Starting this month, you'll see an Author Spotlight page on the blog.

I tossed all of the authors' names into Random Name Picker and made 24 draws.

By random draw, the first Author Spotlight is shining on Laura Hunsaker.

May Rafflecopter

Yes, we have a Rafflecopter to celebrate Romance in Bloom. This month we ask that you follow the authors on their respective BookBub pages, plus the usual additional tasks are available.

Romance in Bloom Rafflecopter starts 12:01 a.m. on Monday, May 4, and ends on 11:59 p.m. Sunday, May 31.

Book Giveaway

I just realized I don't have a book set in May! I guess I'll have to put that on my writing calendar.

I do have a book and a short story set in April though so I'll give away 10 copies of Liam's Wild Irish Rose.

To claim your free copy—first come, first served—go to Liam's Wild Irish Rose, the Smashwords page for the ebook, and add it to your cart.

Before checking out, enter this Smashwords Coupon Code, MZ46T (not case-sensitive), and make sure the total changes to zero.

You can select either the epub or Kindle (mobi) version to download.

This Coupon Code is metered and will stop working after 10 copies have been claimed.

If you like this April love story, please leave a review. You can post a review on Smashwords or, even better for me, on the Amazon page.

Enjoy the blog this month!

    1. I live in Houston most of the time, and we have flowers most of the year. But in spring, it's as if the entire world of flora is competing with itself. Stunning.

  7. No garden for me since we moved to a condo. You have to sign up years in advance for one of the community garden plots. I have two little kits for planting potted lavender and tomatoes. I'll see how that goes.
