I'm a California Girl at heart. I was born there, my family is there, and my favorite beaches are there. I may not live near the beach anymore, but it's always been a huge part of me. In one of my books Highland Games, my heroine is a surfer. I usually have a "theme song" for each book. And for that one, it was "California Girls" by the Beach Boys.
Well, I've had "The Boys of Summer" by the Ataris (or the Eagles, if you prefer) stuck in my head for the past month or so, and now I can tell you why!
