Summer is taking its time to arrive in my part of
the world, and I’m past feeling impatient.
Admittedly, I live in a rain forest and the gardens love the rain, but
come July I expect no less than a nice, long stretch of days in the mid-70’s and balmy
summer nights. I’d like to plan a picnic
or a hike a few days in advance without worrying about getting rained out. Rain or shine, at least there’s always the
beach.
I am a self-confessed beach freak. Despite several moves in my early, married
days, I have always lived within walking distance to a beach. Something about the waves’ mesmerizing
movement soothes my soul and smooths away the day’s rough edges.
It doesn’t matter whether I’m storm watching on the
wild west coast of the Pacific or paddling about cooling off on a hot summer’s
day, I love it all and miss it terribly if I’m away for long. A lake shore just doesn’t tug at me the same
way.
Given my love of the beach, I jumped at the chance
to write a story for LAST CHANCE BEACH, Summer’s End, a collection of new
romance stories that will soon be available for that perfect summer reading escape.
BLUE SKY SUMMER is a sweet, second chance romance, and I can’t wait for you to read it, along with all the LAST CHANCE BEACH stories from our line-up of talented, award-winning authors.
In my world, LAST CHANCE BEACH is a place where there’s always one last chance to fall in love. Care to join me?
Don’t forget to enter our Rafflecopter draw. Maybe this will be your lucky month and you’ll be one of our winners.
Happy reading,
Kathleen.
Kathleen, here's hoping your summer removes the pause button and arrives soon! Will be looking for your book, Blue Sky Summer. We all love those kind of seasons
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nora.
DeleteI love your cover! I love the beach, too, although I've never lived near it--I think that's why "those" vacations are so precious.
ReplyDeleteWe rarely take a vacation that doesn't include a beach.
DeleteLOVE your cover! And the beach! Nothing like it. 💙🌊
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathryn, I was pass the praise to my cover designer.
DeleteBlue Sky Summer is a great title and WoW! On that cover. I’m looking forward to reading it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie!
DeleteLove beach reads! Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a wonderful summer collection.
DeleteI love beaches, lakes, rivers, and any body of water!! So relaxing!
ReplyDeleteYou're a true water baby.
DeleteYou can bet we spend as much time at the lake as we do in the city during the summer. The two youngest grandchilden will be going to visit grandpa next week. He live on a lake and is 20 miles from the ocean, so they'll be in the best of both worlds!
ReplyDeleteLakes are great summer fun, and I do prefer the water temperature to the ocean around here.
DeleteI love the beach and could sit and watch the waves for hours. We lived on a large lake and I loved watching the waves on it. I'm looking forward to reading all the stories in this collection!
ReplyDeleteNothing is more irritating to me than sitting listening to the waves land on share and curl back out to sea, only to have someone next to me crank up their music. They don't get it!
DeleteLove falling asleep with the ocean waves in my ear. I miss it. Wishing you summer days soon. I absolutely LOVE your cover for your story!
ReplyDeletethanks Maddie. Isn't that the best sound in the world?
DeleteI grew up on an island, so blue skies and an eternal summer are not strangers to me. I love the idea of a Last Chance at love. I just might move to Lasts Chance Beach, and of course, I'll be reading Blue Sky Summer while basking in the sun.
ReplyDeleteI long for summer, endless summer. I can't wait to read the entire collection.
ReplyDeleteI love the beach too, but right now it's rain, rain, rain. We do need it though.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking there should be very few forest fires here this year.
DeleteI'm so jealous of you living within walking distance of a beach. We talk about it a lot but never act on it. Here's hoping your summer finally arrives!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hannah. There's a glint of promise in the forecast. Yesterday on the beach, people were wrapped in blankets.
DeleteLooking forward to reading your story and all the others.
