Moonlight at the Grand Hotel - A Perfect Summer Read by May Williams

A week ago, Amie Denman, my writing partner (and sister!), revealed the cover of Moonlight at the Grand Hotel on sale June 29 and available for pre-order now on Amazon. We can’t believe this is the 13th book in our popular Grand Hotel series. We created the premise for our luxurious island resort on an Amtrak train coming home from a book convention in Chicago. We envisioned four books, one for each season. When those were a hit, we knew we couldn’t stop.

Read on for a little teaser about each of the novellas in Moonlight at the Grand Hotel.

A millionaire in hiding…

Milo Pryor sells the software company that made him rich but robbed his soul and heads for White Pine Island where his friend co-owns the Grand Hotel and promises him a job for the summer. Tending bar and serving up cocktails sounds perfect for Milo who wants to meet people who don’t know him as a computer wizard and millionaire. Keeping his wealth a secret should be easy, but finding happiness seems elusive until he meets the beautiful ballroom dance instructor at the Grand Hotel.

Liza Knight has been on stage for ten years, danced in dozens of Broadway shows, and traveled the world. What Liza really wants, though, is a permanent home somewhere and a man who’s the real deal, unlike the actors she’d dated. Teaching ballroom dancing to Grand Hotel guests a few hours each day leaves her plenty of time to reevaluate her career, but she also finds the serious bartender fascinating.

When they agree to a free and fun summer romance on the island, she never suspects he’s playing a part and dancing around the truth.

A fake girlfriend pact…

Holden Pierce needs a girlfriend—a fake girlfriend—to help him entertain clients he hopes will purchase homes in an exclusive housing development. He knows the ins and outs of selling real estate on White Pine Island, but he needs help socially. When pretty and social Daphne Lincoln buys a storefront in the village, he realizes she has the skills he lacks.

Daphne’s dream is to own a souvenir store like the ones she loved to visit as a kid when her family traveled. On White Pine Island, she buys a building and puts her heart into preparing her store to open. Her realtor Holden is sweet and a little shy, but he surprises her by proposing a fake dating ruse—just for business purposes. In exchange Holden offers to introduce her to islanders and help her business.
It seems like a win-win with no commitments past a few weeks, so she agrees to their temporary relationship.

But after dancing at the Grand Hotel and romantic walks in the moonlight, will Daphne and Holden be ready to let each other go?

And just for some summer fun...
Here's a photo of Amie and I circa 1990. We were on vacation and having a marvelous time as you can see.

Cover Reveal! by Laura Hunsaker

I have some exciting news! With the end of summer so came the end of the Last Chance Beach: Summer's End box set. As sad as that is, I'm very excited to share that my story Dreams of the Past has new content and a fresh new cover! But how could I give one book a new cover and not the other? My Fatal Instincts series has a fresh new look courtesy of Author's Write Hand.

Original covers:

New covers:

What do you think? I'm so excited for the new and updated look! Dreams of the Past is up for pre-order now and releases January 12, 2021. Look for the next in the Fatal Instincts series, Dangerous Past, coming this summer... Come read the story that Alexandra Ivy is calling "A story filled with charm, heartache, and the promise of love..."

DREAMS OF THE PAST

She needs rest, he needs relaxation…

Jenny Travers wants a fresh start. Leaving the nightmares of her past behind her, she heads to Last Chance Beach. Renting the Sea Glass Cottage sounds peaceful and relaxing, which is exactly what she needs.

What she doesn’t need is a man.

Lieutenant Commander Scott Gordon was injured by an IED on his last mission, and while his leg has healed, it’ll never be strong enough to stay on his SEAL team. Renting the Sea Glass Cottage sounds like the perfect place to figure out how he’s going to handle his new normal.

He never expected to find a woman in his bed.

A mix-up at the rental agency means Jenny and Scott are both renting the small cottage. Sharing a space with a stranger should be hard, yet they both feel more at peace than they have in months.

Will their summer romance last, or is the magic of Sea Glass Cottage all they’ll have…

Summer Sizzle by Kathleen Lawless @kathleenlawless #romancegems

Summer is taking its time to arrive in my part of the world, and I’m past feeling impatient.  Admittedly, I live in a rain forest and the gardens love the rain, but come July I expect no less than a nice, long stretch of days in the mid-70’s and balmy summer nights.  I’d like to plan a picnic or a hike a few days in advance without worrying about getting rained out.  Rain or shine, at least there’s always the beach.

I am a self-confessed beach freak.  Despite several moves in my early, married days, I have always lived within walking distance to a beach.  Something about the waves’ mesmerizing movement soothes my soul and smooths away the day’s rough edges.

It doesn’t matter whether I’m storm watching on the wild west coast of the Pacific or paddling about cooling off on a hot summer’s day, I love it all and miss it terribly if I’m away for long.  A lake shore just doesn’t tug at me the same way.

Given my love of the beach, I jumped at the chance to write a story for LAST CHANCE BEACH, Summer’s End, a collection of new romance stories that will soon be available for that perfect summer reading escape.

BLUE SKY SUMMER is a sweet, second chance romance, and I can’t wait for you to read it, along with all the LAST CHANCE BEACH stories from our line-up of talented, award-winning authors.

In my world, LAST CHANCE BEACH is a place where there’s always one last chance to fall in love.  Care to join me?

Don’t forget to enter our Rafflecopter draw.  Maybe this will be your lucky month and you’ll be one of our winners.

Happy reading,

Kathleen.

When Life Gives You Lemons...by Karen Kelley #RomanceGems

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.

I love reading the posts from the Gems group. Like Kari, this is a time for change in mine and Karl's life. On April 20, 2016 we took a deep breath and left Henrietta, Texas on an adventure. We'd downsized and sold the house. For the next few years we traveled to 39 states. For a couple who rarely took adventures, this was a huge step.

Suddenly, we were kids again. We saw and did things we would never have thought about doing. We went to National Forests, we were mesmerized by Elk and Geese, even Pink Flamingos. By really tall mountains and waterfalls.

Then there were the people we met along the way. Friends who still correspond with us.

Different foods we got to try, and it was a good thing we hiked a lot.

We had solar panels installed, an inverter, and three marine size batteries. Boondocking was great. We could park in the middle of nowhere and still have electricity.

But that chapter is closing. At least with the RV. We were in Tifton, GA when Karl's lung collapsed. Then he was transferred to Atlanta. Me driving in Atlanta was an--experience. Since I hadn't really driven our truck since we became full time RVers, yes, it was definitely an experience. I think my daughter's finger imprints are still embedded on the dash. I did manage with her help.

Karl is on oxygen now, but we adapted. We came back to Texas where his doctors are. We've been in Texas long enough to know it's time to let someone else have an adventure. We put the RV up for sale.

I'm almost certain we'll have more adventures in our future. We'll never regret the last few years. I'm pretty sure some of those adventures will end up in my books. I know I've learned that I'm stronger for it. I can now drive a big truck through the middle of some crazy busy traffic, I'm not afraid of trying new things, and I'm looking forward to what we can do next.

Have you been on an adventure? I'd love to hear about it. Or maybe you're planning one? Enquiring minds want to know.
