Spring Renewal

As of today, I’ve worked from home for four weeks. In that time, I’ve been kept very busy with the day job and I’m proud of the work we’re doing but our theme this month is about renewal.
Mother Nature is doing a splendid job this year ushering in the new season but what have I done or will I do for me and others during this unusual time in our world?

I’ve always loved to garden. With the extra time we’ve had hubby and I decided to build a small greenhouse. Big enough to get a jump start on salad greens but not so large as to overwhelm the backyard. I also put onions and peas in the ground two weeks ago. I’ve turned over the other beds, added compost and cow poo and basically done a long slow prep for the growing season. Which, by the way, is the earliest I’ve been able to do this in twenty-five years.
I have extra time in the morning and afternoon since I’m not driving to and from the office. This time has become reading and exercise time just for me. I spend more time just letting the pups smell every inch of the yard. I’m not rushing to get anywhere or do anything. I have time to pick up the phone and call family members just to check in for a few minutes.

I’ve discovered over the last weeks is that I really am a homebody. I’m cooking and baking again and homecooked food really does taste SO much better than most restaurants. It took the current health crisis to help me rediscover the one place where I find contentment and joy. My little house and yard.

I am looking forward to when we can host a barbeque or two, or a holiday dinner. But I’m going to do my best to stay grounded and continue the sense of peace I’ve found sitting in a lounge chair reading a great book or writing one.

I’m participating in this month’s Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt. Once you locate the egg come back to the Rafflecopter form below and enter. While you’re there complete the other tasks to earn more points. The complete information can be found on our Monthly Giveaway Page
Now remember head out to hunt for the hidden egg. You’ll find an Easter egg somewhere on one of the following sites:

Until next time-
I wish you happiness, good health and love.

  5. There have been joys, haven't there, and time to spend dwelling on them, too. Renewal is just the right word.

  6. You are a bundle of energy, Lucinda, and accomplishing a great deal. Since I'm lucky enough to write full-time, the main change for me is that I miss seeing our daughters. Best wishes.

  9. I applaud you! I don't have a green thumb at all. I even killed my plants when I lived in Hawaii!

  10. I'm a homebody, too, and I just received seeds and starter kits via Amazon. That's a first for me - I DO LOVE visiting the garden center - but I'll take it. 😊

  11. I'm a home gardener, cooker, baker, but not a candlestick maker. *g* This quiet time has been good for me because I've traveled so much in the past 12 months, not for pleasure either. It's nice to stay in my own home and get back to something approaching normal.
