Fall in Love in November by @JoanReeves #RomanceGems

October was a fun month, wasn't it? We gave away lots of books, and we gave some very nice Amazon Gift Cards too.

Nancy Fraser will give you all the details of the No Tricks—Just Treats October promotion and describe our November promotion: Life Lessons.

November? OMG! I can't believe it's really November?

Of course, I've been in such a tizzy, as my mom would say, that I don't know whether I'm coming or going.

I'm traveling even as you read this. I left home, and I left my notes at home too. Notes about what updates to do, notes about obligations I'd made, etc. With the help of the other Romance Gems authors, I cobbled together a blog update.

What's New on Romance Gems?

Movie Theater: (1) Life Lessons (Watch the video please) and  (2) Last Christmas (by me *g*)

Home Page Book Covers Sidebar: 10 new book covers

Life Lessons Promotion: 5 Amazon Gift Cards to give away. Rafflecopter opens Nov.5. Check our Monthly Giveaway page for details.

About Life Lessons

This is the month for Thanksgiving in the U.S.A. We all talk about what we're grateful for, and that's great. But Bonnie Edwards suggested Life Lessons is something else we should talk about and share.

Is this for you? If you dread the phrase learning experience then chances are you're just like me and the other humans on the planet. You've made mistakes and learned from them. I've been known to say that I'm going to make a tee shirt that says: Oh, no! Not another Learning Experience.

Sharing Life Lessons

Allow me to share this Life Lesson with you today. When you're going on a trip, make a checklist of what you need to take with you if you need to work while away. Ten place the list somewhere obvious so you'll see it as you walk out the exit door. Heck, tape the list to the inside of the exit door .

What's Your Life Lesson?

Use comments to share a Life Lesson with us. Leave your email address with your comment.

This Giveaway for a Kindle copy of Last Christmas, Book 1 of Small Town Texas Romance,. is open until Nov. 7.

If you've ever had your heart broken and didn't know why it happened, then this book is for you! When I return home, I'll choose a winner, by random draw, on Nov. 8 and notify the winner by email and by a comment on this post.

Last Christmas

Last Christmas Annabelle gave Rick her heart. He stomped on it. This Christmas, Rick's going to pay!

A year ago, Annabelle fell in love at first sight with a mysterious stranger. After a week of unforgettable passion, he walked out of her life. A year of heartache, accompanied by the dirty tricks life can serve up, finds Annabelle back in her hometown, determined to forget the man who still haunts her dreams.

Who should walk into her grandmother’s Christmas party?

Why the man who seduced her, lied to her, and betrayed her!

He has a new name and a new identity, but his effect on her is as old as time.

Rick Lassiter wants to woo Annabelle back to him.

Unfortunately, he has two big problems: he can't explain the past and the sweet-tempered, passionate woman he fell in love with has a will as strong as his and a desire to make him pay for breaking her heart.

  1. I'm a huge list maker, especially when I have to go somewhere. If it's a writing event where I'm staying, I have two lists. One for my clothes and things I'll need in the hotel room. And one for all my books, promo items, etc... Then I might have a list of all the things I need to do leading up to the event. On that list will be 'make a list for conference".

    1. I'm a list maker too. Usually. Sometimes "stuff" happens. *G* And the list doesn't get made.

  2. I laughed when I read Kari's comment. Apparently, we're a lot alike. I started packing 2 weeks before hubby and I left on our cruise. I had a packing list with him on one side and me on the other. I have day to day lists. BUT, I'm still not as organized as you and I doubt I ever will be. No biggie that you forgot something. Enjoy your time away from home. I learned life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

    1. Thanks, Karen. I struggle with trying to do it all even though I know no one can do it all. *sigh* Today here is beautiful, sunny, and cold. Actually, it's the north wind that's so cold. I may pick up pecans later since the trees have shed them.

  3. I make incomplete lists. I can never think of everything in one sitting so I start lists and then forget where I left them and start another. Someday I’ll get it right, And Last Christmas sounds like a great read!

    1. *LOL* That's funny. What I hate is thinking of something as I'm falling asleep. Then I spend too much time thinking about it so I'll remember it in the morning when I should just get up and go write it down.

  4. I've always flown by the seat of my pants- claiming I do better under pressure, which, in some ways I do. But lately I've grown more appreciative of lists. it definitely helps with the ADD brain.

    1. I'm beginning to think there should be an ADD category that stands for Adult-Onset Deficit Disorder. I think a lot of us would say we have that.

  5. Rarely make a list. I thought it strange when I had a roommate in college who made lists of anything that could be listed. I came from a random thinking family I guess.

    1. I'm the only one in my family who is a list maker/organizer, and I've been that way since I was a child. Maybe it's because I was the one who had to make sure everyone else was ready to go or positioned to do what was required. I'm still doing that.

  6. Nothing as satisfying as making a list, then crossings things off as they get done. Last Christmas sounds like a most compelling read.

    1. According to scientific studies, making a list, crossing items off as they are accomplished creates an endorphin release. I can always use an endorphin release!

  7. I LOVE lists! They keep me on-track in my hectic life. "Kitchen Central," I joke when it's stuff for my family. Plus, I agree with Kathleen. There is nothing as satisfying as then crossing something off that long list. Aaaaah........ :D

    1. Just from the comments, it seems most of us are list makers. Do you think it has something to do with how busy we all are?

  8. What an interesting theme this month! Evernote is great for making lists of all types. Some other lists I like to keep a constantly updated grocery list and a list of potential character names.

  9. I don't really write things down which is a bad habit.. I think lists are often helpful.. especially if you need to work in groups. I think a good life lesson would be to have solid, realistic goals you can meet.

    1. Sorry to be so late in getting back to this blog post. My out of state trip ended up complicated. I agree with your Life Lesson and you were entered in the Giveaway. I'm choosing the winner today and feel really bad about being so late. I hate being late on things! *LOL*

  11. when I travel I always wrap my shampoo and conditioner in Press N Seal wrap. I just flew to TX and my shampoo had started to leak, but the press n seal protected my clothes.
