Sneaking in here on a Surprise Day to invite you to a book-signing I'm sure you won't be able to attend. I'm doing this for more than one reason, though. Aside from the obvious and embarrassing self-aggrandizement, I'd love to hear from other writers--and readers!--about book-signing experiences, both good and bad. Thank you for sharing.
From Legacy Outfitters and Black Dog Coffee at 116 S 6th St, Logansport, IN.
"We're so exited about our upcoming Book Signing and talk by author Liz Flaherty next Saturday, June 26th from 11am to 2pm. Liz is one of our favorite customers and her 'Window on the Sink' columns in the Peru Tribune are now in book form.
Romance readers know her as the author of over 20 novels published by Harlequin, Kensington, Carina Press, and The Wild Rose Press. Her work has also been in The Saturday Evening Post, Ladies Home Journal, and the Christian Science Monitor. But it's her Window on the Sink essays she's most happiest writing. Each essay is a personal, thoughtful slice of life, recalling moments spent in the small town of Macy where she and her husband, musician, Duane, live and raised their kids. As one reviewer says, 'Family comes alive in this book and you'll laugh and cry and feel good all over.' Copies of her book are available now and at the signing."
Liz! Congratulations on arranging this exciting real world event. I’m sure the store will have a line up! How accomplished you are!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bonnie. I hope it goes okay!
DeleteI wish I could come!!! I hope you have fun!
ReplyDeleteI wish you could, too! I hope it's fun. They often are, but I'm still scared of them. :-)
DeleteI love your intro. I would be there for sure if I could. So few bookstores have signings these days. I do some at the library. It's one sure way of introducing myself to readers who haven't read me before. Here's to many sales.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marcia. I wish you all could visit the Black Dog. It's one of my favorite places in the world!
DeleteGood luck!! I hope you sell oodles!
ReplyDeleteFrom your mouth to God's ear! :-) Thanks, Kari.
DeleteI don't know if this says something about me, but the signings I've had thus far have been in a winery, the liquor department of HyVee, and a brewery. Hmm... Hope yours is wildly successful, Liz! :)
ReplyDeleteLol. I've been part of a few at wineries. They are fun! At least, I think they are...
DeleteYour intro is impressive! I have my copy. My book signings have been at bookstores, libraries, and Panera. I haven't had a signing in several years. Hope you have tons of sales and new readers find your lovely voice and style.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you, Carolyn. I'm not nearly as impressive as it sounds, though.
DeleteI've done a few signings and readings, for the experience, not the sales. Nothing I would call wildly successful, even with a group of us.
ReplyDeleteUsually they're fun with a group, though, aren't they? It's when you have one on your own and hardly anyone comes that it's hard. Sigh.
DeleteI wish I could be there. I love book signings, chatting with the author, and bringing home books that are autographed. All of the book signings I did back in the day were fun events. The most books I sold at any one setting was 102. I even had a rep from the company that stocks the books in stores put me in their newsletter. That was a big deal for me.
ReplyDeleteSounds great! I think I sold 60-some at a signing, once, in the town I worked in. Nothing nearly that good after that, but the rep was there and she was so nice. I did sell about 20 at a signing earlier this year and I didn't expect that!
DeleteWonderful to be able to have a signing in person, Liz!
ReplyDeleteI hope so, Thanks, Hannah!
